Lacey Turner, the well-known actress from the series 'EastEnders', recently referred to her feelings of sadness due to the departure of several actors from the show. This week, the news of Zoe Slater's (played by Michelle Ryan) permanent exit was announced, who unfortunately lost her life due to a serious head injury. Additionally, Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) along with her son, Johnny (played by Charlie Slater), will officially end the Carters' era in Albert Square.
Departure of Key Characters
Alongside these actors, the deeply troubling villain character, Ravi Gulati (played by Aaron Thiara), is also leaving the series. Although there is still no confirmation regarding Oscar Burning's (played by Pierre Kohnian-Molier) exit, rumors suggest that he too will soon be leaving this location. Furthermore, Kat and Alfie Moon (played by Jessie Wallace and Shane Richie) will be away from the show for a while to perform in a pantomime, but they will return to the Vic bar soon.
Turner's Feelings About the Departure of Other Actors
Lacey Turner, who has played Stacey Slater in the series since 2004, has recently decided to take a break and is writing an autobiography while participating in 'Strictly Come Dancing'. However, she mentioned the sadness caused by the departure of several actors and stated in an interview: "It's really upsetting." Turner continued, saying: "I love Ravi in the show and he's leaving his pink flamingos behind. I always hope they come back. They are part of the set."
Regarding her own return, there is still no confirmation, but reports suggest she will return for a few episodes airing during the New Year and then will come back full-time to the show.
Personal Life and Return to Acting
Lacey spoke about her decision to take a break from the series: "I think when you reach an age where you think: 'What really matters?' I'm nearly 40 and enjoying growing up, but the kids grow up so fast. I'm lucky to be able to say: 'I want to spend some time with my kids, get home and feed the chickens.'"
She also expressed her happiness that the character Stacey has not been abruptly removed from the series: "I'm glad they didn't kill Stacey off. If that had happened, I would have been really upset. I love this job, really. I love it and I still watch the show. It's a big part of my life and I don't think I could ever let it go and say goodbye forever."
Return of Old Characters
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Stacey's brother, Sean (played by Rob Kazinsky), will soon return to Walford. Rob said about his return: "I left 'EastEnders' in 2008 as a 23-year-old and was lucky to work around the world for 18 years after that. I've always been a fan of 'EastEnders' and knew one day I wanted to step back into Sean's shoes, but this time as a man to see who Sean has grown up to be. I'm doing this for Sean, for my fans who have supported every role, and especially for myself. I’ve come home and can’t wait to bring a new level of emotional chaos to Albert Square.
