Farewell to summer is always difficult, but with the onset of cold and dark mornings, there is a silver lining: the return of autumn beverages. However, for die-hard fans of McDonald's Toffee Latte, this season is now accompanied by sadness.
Recently, this fast-food chain announced that it would be removing the hot Toffee Latte from its menu, leaving customers 'devastated.' While McDonald's has added two new coffee syrup flavors, vanilla and salted caramel, online users insist that these flavors 'will never compare to Toffee Latte.'
The Absence of Toffee Latte and Customer Reactions
The Toffee Latte, priced at £2.79 and available on the McDonald's menu for over a decade, had become one of the brand's most popular beverages with its blend of Arabica coffee, semi-skimmed milk, toffee syrup, and whipped cream. Users on social media have described it as 'their favorite drink,' with one stating on Reddit: 'Toffee Latte was my main reason for going to McDonald's.'
A well-known user on TikTok, under the name .with.alana36, expressed strong disappointment over this decision and urged others to start a petition for the return of Toffee Latte. She lamented, 'McDonald's, someone answer me!' and after trying the caramel flavor, described it as 'not at all like Toffee Latte.'
New Challenges for McDonald's
This menu change comes at a time when McDonald's is already facing customer criticism. It was recently announced that the classic game 'McDonald's Monopoly' will not be held in 2026, which has also angered fans. This game has been recognized as one of the most exciting features of the brand since its launch in 2006.
A spokesperson for McDonald's emphasized that the brand is always looking for new ways to surprise and delight customers, and while Monopoly will not be held in 2026, they will carefully listen to customer feedback to provide better offerings in the future.
Given that some customers have threatened to 'boycott' the brand, it seems that McDonald's will soon need to implement new measures to win back customers' favor.
