Macklemore, the prominent rapper, was removed from the American leg of the tour after stadium officials informed Ed Sheeran that he would not be allowed to perform if Macklemore remained on the lineup. This decision came after Macklemore expressed support for Palestine in his previous two performances and displayed images of the war, which elicited reactions from artists like Pink and a statement from Ed Sheeran.

Compassionate Decisions by Finneas and Aaron Rowe
In an Instagram post, Finneas wrote: "Artists should not be silent when speaking for the oppressed. I have decided to withdraw from future tour dates with Ed Sheeran. I stand with Palestine and its people."
Meanwhile, Aaron Rowe also confirmed his withdrawal with a similar statement, saying he did not take this decision lightly: "Ed has been a friend who has changed my life. But as Irish people, we are well aware of genocide, forced famine, and violent occupation." He also added that he cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their power to silence voices of justice.
Macklemore expressed his support for this move in a post with the Palestinian flag and a heart emoji, and reactions were seen from Green Party leader Zach Polanski and the music group Kneecap.
Additionally, Lukas Graham, the last supporting artist for Ed Sheeran, also withdrew from the tour and expressed his support for Palestine. He wrote: "We must be able to talk about war, the killing of civilians and children who have the right to grow up. Wherever they live, it doesn't matter."
Macklemore emphasized in a statement released on Monday that neither he nor Ed Sheeran should be considered victims of this situation. He was set to participate in the remaining eight shows with Ed Sheeran.
In response to the controversy, Ed Sheeran released a statement saying: "I am saddened by the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The suffering and pain caused on both sides is a human tragedy." He also stated that the decision to remove Macklemore from the tour was made by the organizers, not him.
