Insomniac recently released the new Wolverine game for the PlayStation 5 console. However, the game has not received a particularly positive reception from critics and has become one of the least valued exclusive games of this generation of PlayStation. While previous games from this studio, such as Spider-Man, were widely acclaimed, Wolverine has failed to replicate that level of success.
Negative Feedback and Criticism
The main criticisms of the game relate to the way it tracks objectives and hidden items. Players have particularly pointed out Wolverine's "tracking ability," which has been derogatorily compared to "gut gas." This feature, which means continuous marking to track objectives, has left some players dissatisfied. According to some critics, this feature diminishes the sense of exploration and discovery.

James Stevenson, the community director of Insomniac, has stated that his team is paying attention to the criticisms and is reviewing the received feedback. He said in a message on social media platform X: "We have been listening to feedback 100% over the past few days, and the team is working hard to address some of this feedback."
Insomniac's Response to Criticism
Stevenson did not provide specific details about post-launch updates, but it is expected that the studio will address the "tracking ability." He also noted that this feature is not always active and only activates during certain story missions and when the player is near a collectible item.
This criticism comes at a time when the Wolverine game has just been released, and some issues may be resolved in the future with updates. Meanwhile, the actor portraying Wolverine, Liam McIntyre, has responded to the criticisms and expressed hope that players will enjoy the game. He stated: "I am extremely proud of this game. It is truly enjoyable."
The current state of the Wolverine game is significant as Sony's reputation is under pressure due to its plans to phase out physical media and cancel Hideo Kojima's project. These issues may have a substantial impact on the sales and public reception of the game.
