Naomi Klein, author and social activist, critically addresses the wealthy in technology in her latest book titled "The End Times Fascism." She begins her narrative with a scene of two influential men envisioning a "heavenly city" completely detached from the realities of life in the mountains of Davos in 2026. These two men, Jared Kushner and Steven Witkoff, describe a rich place devoid of weapons where only the wealthy continue to live.
A Cemetery for Real Estate
The World Economic Forum in Davos, which has always been known as a venue for showcasing the philanthropy of the wealthy regarding poverty and climate change, this year more transparently revealed the harsh economic realities. This year, the world's wealthy men boldly discussed investment opportunities in "mass graves," reflecting their insensitivity and detachment from societal realities.
Klein criticizes this situation, claiming that extreme wealth has destructive effects on human mentality and behavior, leading them to supremacy and racist thinking. She points out that these wealthy individuals seek absolute power and greater influence in society, using every crisis, including environmental and financial crises, as a tool to expand their dominance.
The New World of the Wealthy
Klein's book also examines the social and economic changes resulting from the rise of the wealthy in technology, reminding us that in today's world, these individuals influence not only the economy but also politics and culture. She emphasizes that there is a strong need for awareness and resistance against this trend, as otherwise, a dark future awaits humanity.
