Passengers on rail lines to London Euston Station are facing widespread delays and cancellations today. Two infrastructure faults on the main route to this station have caused significant disruptions to daily travel. According to officials, these issues could have serious impacts on travelers' plans.

Disruptions Due to Infrastructure Faults

Two specific faults on the rail lines, one near Tring and another between Euston and Watford Junction, have led to speed restrictions and consequently widespread delays. Following these issues, national railway officials have warned that services operated by Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway will be affected.

Officials stated: "The speed restriction on the faulty line between Berkhamsted and Cheddington means that trains must operate at reduced speeds on the Milton Keynes Central route. This issue and another fault between Euston and Watford Junction will cause delays and cancellations for journeys between these two stations."

Response to Issues and Options Available for Passengers

Passengers traveling with Avanti can use their tickets to board one of the two Avanti West Coast services that depart immediately before or after their booked train. Additionally, those with London Northwestern tickets can use the Overground services between Euston and Watford at no extra cost until noon.

Passengers affected by these disruptions may be eligible to request compensation or delay payments, which typically activate after delays of more than 15 minutes. This compensation is usually paid directly by the train companies.

In light of these issues, some passengers have expressed their opinions on social media, complaining about the frequent cancellations. One passenger from Watford wrote: "London Northwestern, another day with more cancellations, every train from Hemel to Euston has been canceled, what is happening?"

Despite these problems, railway officials have stated that they will work to minimize disruptions and ensure passengers receive appropriate services soon. Passengers are advised to contact the relevant operators before their journeys to check the status of their travel.
