Max Verstappen, the Formula One champion and driver for the Red Bull team, defeated 100 go-kart drivers in an exciting race at Silverstone. This event, recognized as the largest go-kart race in the world, took place yesterday, and Verstappen, starting from the last position, demonstrated that his go-karting skills remain exceptional since his childhood.
Challenge from the Start
Verstappen, who at 28 years old competes with four Formula One championships, entered the race from the 101st position on the starting grid. This competition included amateur drivers, selected Red Bull athletes, content creators, and fans, all hoping to outpace the Formula One champion. Despite other drivers having previous experience on the track, Verstappen quickly maneuvered through his competitors with speed and precision.

No Room for Doubt
After the race started, Verstappen easily passed 63 drivers in the first 14 laps and moved ahead. Describing the situation as a "chaos," he humorously told his team over the radio: "I have no idea what is happening – it’s chaos." However, this condition had no impact on his performance, and he was able to easily overtake his rivals.
Only three other drivers, including journalist Jaki Martens, YouTuber Zach Alsop, and race technician Louis Asler, were ahead of Verstappen. But by the end of the fourteenth lap, Verstappen easily passed them and secured the championship for himself.
Returning to His Roots
After the race, Verstappen spoke about his experience: "I used to race a lot in go-karting during my childhood, and due to my Formula One career, I don’t have much time to race in go-karts anymore, so it’s always nice to return to my roots and try it once again." He continued: "Before this race, I had only three or four laps on the track as my practice. In fact, since you never know what to expect, the best thing is not to think about it and just feel it."
This competition not only showcased Verstappen's skills in go-karting but also highlighted his love for the sport and his deep connection with it. With this victory, Verstappen once again proved that at any level of competition, he is an absolute force.
