LNER has introduced £12 train tickets for travel from London King's Cross station to Leeds, recognized as the cheapest price in the last twenty years. This initiative allows travelers to enjoy the facilities and attractions of this vibrant city at a low cost.
Details of the new tickets
Passengers can purchase their tickets from 5:40 AM to 9:10 PM, and return tickets will be available for just £24. This price is especially reduced to £8 for railcard holders. The travel time from London to Leeds is about two hours, which is significantly faster than traveling by bus.
Leeds railway station is located in the heart of the city, allowing passengers to easily access various parts of the city without the need for expensive taxis. Given the rising popularity of short trips, a 15-hour stay in Leeds can be an attractive option.

David Fletcher, commercial director of LNER, said of this plan: “By offering these incredibly low prices, we are competing with bus companies and providing a faster and more affordable option.” Additionally, Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire, added: “This initiative helps us achieve our goals of increasing tourism and attracting visitors by improving access to Leeds and encouraging more people to choose rail travel.”
Belinda Aldridge, head of tourism in Leeds, also noted: “These incredible prices provide even more reason for people to experience Leeds for themselves and enjoy the attractions of this lively and vibrant city.”
