Donald Trump's administration has faced a slight increase in its popularity; however, the overall picture for the Republican Party is not very encouraging. According to the latest poll, 35 percent of Americans approve of the President's performance, which is an improvement from the lowest recorded level of 33 percent in his political career in late August.
Challenges Facing Republicans
However, this slight improvement cannot bring joy to Republicans, as 44 percent of respondents stated they would vote for Democrats if congressional elections were held. Meanwhile, Republicans are in second place with 37 percent, and this 7 percent gap represents the largest lead for Democrats in polls since Trump's return to the White House in January 2025.

Concerns About Trump's Economic Promises
At the recent Republican midterm national convention held in Dallas, Trump promised that if Republicans maintain control of Congress, all American adults would receive $5,000 as a dividend. However, 63 percent of respondents opposed this proposal, including 40 percent of Republicans and 90 percent of Democrats. This policy, which requires congressional approval, could cost around $1.2 trillion, and some Republicans have warned that this move could lead to increased inflation.
Economic concerns have clearly emerged as a serious issue for the Republican Party. Polls show that 38 percent of Americans have more trust in Democrats to manage the economy, while 37 percent have voted for Republicans. This marks a turning point in economic policies that have traditionally favored Republicans.
Trump's popularity has significantly declined during the war with Iran, which began in February and disrupted oil shipments from the Middle East. Rising fuel prices and household financial concerns have added to the pressures. Trump's construction projects in Washington, including plans for a new ballroom in the White House, have not received much support, with two-thirds of respondents considering these projects insignificant.
