Adam Worthon, Crystal Palace midfielder, spoke about his satisfaction with his current situation in response to transfer rumors regarding his move to major Premier League clubs. The player, who has made 99 appearances and scored one goal and provided 12 assists during his two and a half years at Selhurst Park, emphasized that he has never considered transferring to other clubs.
Brilliant Performance and Club Successes
Worthon has played a very important role during his time at Crystal Palace and, under the guidance of Oliver Glasner, has achieved titles such as the FA Cup, Europa Conference League, and Community Shield. These successes have attracted the attention of major Premier League clubs to this player, but Worthon has clearly stated that he has never thought about transferring and is fully focused on the club's future successes.
In an interview with the media, he said: "Honestly, I never thought about transferring this summer. I am far from that topic, and my agent doesn’t tell me anything. I don’t need to know this information. If I’m not going to move, then there’s no reason to think about it. It will only be in your mind and will cause you to overthink."
Future and Goals of Crystal Palace
Worthon also referred to the rumors about his future that arose during the summer, saying: "I have always trained here and I look forward to the new season with the new head coach [Pierre Sage] and new players. I still have three years left on my contract with Crystal Palace, so it’s clear to me that I am here unless another club comes after me or a new contract is signed."
Crystal Palace, which qualified for the Europa League for the first time, was relegated to the Europa Conference League due to violations of multi-club ownership rules. However, after winning this competition, the club, under its new head coach Pierre Sage, is looking to make up for lost time.
Worthon spoke about this season, saying: "This is exciting for us and the club, especially after last season's successes. It’s the first time in Europe, a new step for the club, and we have embraced it with open arms. I think the same applies to this current season, and we cannot go to the later rounds and not strive for the championship. That is our goal."
